Comparison

Calendace vs Treatwell

Treatwell is a marketplace that also gives you software. Calendace is only software, and it is yours. The two differences that will cost you most: the commission per new client and the twelve-month contract.

The maths

What 25 % really costs

A 25 € haircut leaves 6,25 € on every new client. With twenty new clients a month that is 125 €, plus the software fee. And it is twelve months of contract, not a month of trial.

The commission grows with you

A percentage is not a fixed cost: it is a partner. The month most new clients come in is the month you pay most, which is exactly when you would want to be earning more.

Twelve months is a lot to decide today

Treatwell's minimum commitment is a year. With Calendace there is no contract: if in two months it is not working for you, you leave and you take your data with you.

The fair thing is to count only the new clients

Treatwell does not charge for repeat bookings, and that is honest of them. The sum you have to do is how many new clients a month the marketplace really brings you, and whether that 25 % is worth it against what it costs you to win them on your own.

Where they beat us

It is the biggest beauty marketplace in Europe

If your problem is that nobody finds you, Treatwell puts your salon in front of a lot of people who had never heard of you. We do not do that, and we are not going to say otherwise.

The commission is only on new clients

They do not charge on bookings from people who are already your clients. That is a fairer model than a percentage on everything, and it has to be said.

They include online payments

They have prepayment with 2 % processing. Calendace does not handle online payments today.

When each one makes sense

Treatwell, if you need to win clients and you are willing to pay for it

A new salon, or gaps to fill, and you would rather pay 25 % of the first ticket than not have that client. It is a reasonable decision, as long as you do the sum.

Calendace, if you already have clients and you want to keep them

You already have a client base and what you want is to stop picking up the phone, to have people show up, and for your client list to be yours. No percentages and no signing up for a year.
